Growing up in Birmingham, it was an organic part of life to engage in a variety of different cultures. Through portraiture, my project aims to explore the way in which people use fashion to represent multiple identities within the community, which has evolved from the cultural hybridity of the city. I have celebrated prominent members of the city's cultural landscape, communicated in a way that challenges both the traditional and western cultural values.
